The Mariemont Inn

The Mariemont Inn Has Two Birthdays

If you have heard two different dates for the Mariemont Inn, both may be right. The building was completed in spring 1926 as part of the young Village of Mariemont. Its first work was tied to the development of the village: the Mariemont Company used space here for offices, and a savings bank opened in the building. The hotel itself opened later, on April 13, 1929.

That distinction tells a larger story. The Inn was conceived as more than a place for overnight visitors. It stood at the heart of a community designed around everyday life: homes, businesses, civic spaces, streets and green places meant to work together. Even before travelers checked into a room, the building helped people find their place in the new village.

When the hotel opened, it added another kind of welcome. Visitors could arrive in Mariemont, stay near the square, dine and experience the village at a human pace. That mix of neighborhood life and hospitality remains one of the reasons a stay here feels different from a hotel along a highway or in a downtown tower.

The building reached its centennial in 2026. The hotel’s centennial arrives in 2029. We celebrate both: one marks the creation of a gathering place, and the other marks the beginning of nearly a century of welcoming guests. Take a look at the Inn before your visit, then step outside during your stay and see how the building still connects to the square around it.
