5 Great Wedding Venues in Cincinnati

Wedding days are just special as everything has to be right. The gown, food and drinks, guests, and most importantly, the venue. They all have to be right. When looking for affordable wedding venues in Cincinnati, you want to look beyond the obvious. We check out some hidden gems that make the Queen City the star she is to wedding planners.

Best Western Premier Mariemont Inn

This historic hotel is only nine miles from downtown Cincinnati and it is surrounded by attractions such as Paul Brown Stadium, the Great American Ballpark, and the Riverbend Music Center. Families will no doubt enjoy Newport Aquarium, Kings Island, and the Cincinnati Zoo that are only a few minutes away from the wedding venue. This boutique hotel was founded in 1929, with the hotel area meant to only occupy a small part of the entire building. Later on, the central location proved ideal for business persons and families traveling to Cincinnati and so the suites and rooms were increased and remodeled to the current 45. They have a delightful honeymoon suite that you might want to check out. Every room is uniquely designed with classic furnishing that is blended perfectly with modernity. Perfectly manicured grounds make the hotel the ideal venue for a wedding as well as the security and free Wi-Fi open to all. The hotel’s menu is elaborate to accommodate all and the management us certainly flexible to accommodate other needs that might not be part of their regular plans.

The Farm

For over 50 years now, The Farm has been serving Cincinnati residents and its visitors come yummy food and affordable accommodation. Whether you plan to host an anniversary party, a wedding reception, or a fundraiser dinner, the management works with you to bring your concept to life. Located just six miles west downtown Cincinnati in Delhi Township, The Farm has two large halls with a capacity of 300 each and a total 600 when they are opened to make one large cozy room. Each of the halls is a stand-alone facility with its kitchen, a dance floor, and bar as well as staff. Being a family business, they know the value of providing customized services, which is why it has been one of the most favored affordable wedding venues in Cincinnati. You will be served delicious food grown organically in their farm and assured security as long as your party lasts. You will be required to make prior arrangements that start with contacting the management to know about their calendar before proceeding to book.

Pinecroft at Crosley Estate

It only takes a stroll in the well-manicured gardens of the Pinecroft to know that it could be the perfect place for a country estate wedding. The historic manor maintains its classic looks it still has all the modern amenities that make the modern couple tick. When you book the hotel, you have the whole day’s access to the mansion and the grounds. Each of the spaces at the Pinecroft is unique and the ideal location for any activity you may desire for your big day, from cocktails in the estate grounds to the charming library. Guests who have been here had nothing but good words for the helpful staff, beautifully maintained gardens, and the ornately decorated suites. The bridal suite and groom’s quarters take it all. On the second floor, the bride has her quarters including a makeup room for her and her party while they enjoy the spoils of their quarters, the boys will be in the basement enjoying their video games and large TVs hidden perfectly among wine cellars. The menu is innovative and the hotel works with you to ensure that you get the full experience that you deserve. They encourage all interested parties to book a tour of the manor to understand what is in it for them.

The 20th Century Theater

If you are into arts and would love a contemporary theater as your wedding venue, then no other place in Cincinnati beats the 20TH Century Theater, located in Oakley Square in Cincinnati. The management treats each party uniquely so that your interests are fully accomplished from food to drinks and décor. The theater can easily host 300 party goers but the management makes it cozy for parties of as few as 50. What value do they offer? In-house catering, valet parking, a fully stocked bar, among other services to take the burden of the day off your hands. Unfortunately, the venue has no dressing room or on-site accommodation, but it does have handicap accessibility. Luckily, the Mariemont Inn is right down the street. The venue is affordable and even more so on weekdays. To book this venue, contact management.

The Bell Event Centre

The Bell Event Centre was built in 1850 and to date, it still features original hand-painted murals, vaulted ceilings, exquisite marble, priceless stained glass windows, murals, and terrazzo flooring. Talk of the 18th century in a modern setting. The Centre was a church initially, but over the years, it changed to what is today – the preferred spot for memorable events in Cincinnati. The Centre’s gratis amenities include private rooms for dressing and meetings, grounds for the ceremony, a public address system, a spacious dance floor, and other amenities to cater to up to 340 guests. The center runs the event unless you choose to do it yourself in which case they will have a separate package. The Bell Event Centre is usually booked months in advance, and so the management advices you to get in touch as soon as you decide it could be where you want to tie the knot. Cincinnati is full of beautiful historic venues that will change the way you organize parties. These five are only the beginning but they are also the most sought after. Make your wedding memorable with the best venue in the Queen City.

The Mariemont Inn is notably one of the best hotels in Cincinnati, along with the best surrounding activities, that most people mistakenly overlook.

The surrounding area is full of nature, ideal for walks, bike rides, and nature escapades. Downtown Cincinnati is a short 15-minute drive away from the Inn, where you can experience even more fun and entertainment. Whether you are visiting Cincinnati for the first time or wanting to enjoy a Staycation in the nicest hotel in Cincinnati, your visit to the Best Western Premier Mariemont Inn is a unique experience you’ll remember forever.

Cincy Brew Bus

If you haven’t been on a Cincy Brew Bus yet, you are doing yourself an injustice. The bus is in business Thursday through Sunday, charging $50 – $65 per person for drinking tickets and $25 – $30 per person for non-drinking tickets. Founded in 2013, the Cincy Brew Bus was intended to infuse knowledge of local beer and other drinks to those who not only enjoyed the taste but also looked forward to being more knowledgeable of their beloved favorite drink. There are three distinct buses: the premier craft brewery wagon, winery tours, and the bourbon distilling tasting tours. The tour takes you to four breweries where you get to sample their drinks at each stop before heading to a Servatii Bavarian soft pretzel and getting a behind-the-scenes tour. The crew spends 3 to 5 hours at each stop to give all participants the chance for a proper tour, enough time for tasting as well as all the time to ask questions. What makes the tour interesting is not only the trip to those happy places but also the quizzes from the beeristas and founders about Cincy’s beers and bourbon. It is full of fun and adventure for both locals and visitors to the city.

Carew Tower Observation Deck

In the heart of downtown Cincinnati is Carew Tower, the second tallest building in Cincinnati. On the 49th floor is the viewing deck that allows you the best sight of the city below. The observation deck is only open on specific hours and days: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. till 5:30 p.m.; Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; then Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 to 7:00 PM. Children below 5 years are let in free while those aged 6 to 11 pay $3. Those above 12 pay $6 to enjoy this panoramic view. The Carew Tower, completed in 1930, houses 25 shops, restaurants, and other amenities. At the top just before you get to the observation tower is a souvenir gift shop for all your treasure hunts. This observation deck is one of a kind and being in one of the tallest buildings in the city, gives you the best view of what lies below. It is a great hangout for visitors and residents of Queen City.

National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

History is a critical part of our lives and it is upon us to impact knowledge on future generations so they know where they are coming from. The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is dedicated to keeping the voices of freedom fighters alive since its inception. Since 2004, the center has welcomed voices of those seeking more knowledge on slavery, colonialism, and other issues that are important for the understanding of ancient America. Located by the banks of the Ohio River, the center is open to everyone and stays open from Tuesday to Saturday. Charges are Adults: $15, Seniors 60+: $13, Children ages 3-12: $10.50, Children under 3 enter free. Groups have special charges as per the website. One more thing that the center offers: genealogy. You get to trace your family tree for free through help offered by the attendants at the center. You don’t have to make reservations as walk-ins are welcome. The volunteers will use the information you give – such as names of ancestor, folklore, or anything associated with your family – to trace your family tree. Lots of fun an information.

The Haunted Tour

Is the Queen City haunted? If you like horror stories and would like to learn stories of grisly murders and other disturbing facts about Cincinnati, then this tour should be on your list. It is only held on Saturdays and lasts 60-90 minutes. In this time, you visit some horrifying caves, walk around human remains and even get to learn about the Witch of Washington Park. Tickets range between $25 and $35 depending on what you want to achieve. The $35 ticket caters to intimate groups and allows for a more thorough tour. The only downside to this tour is that it is not wheelchair-accessible yet there are some stairs to climb.

Food Tour Cincinnati

Food tour anyone? For $55 per person, you can be part of a streetcar with plenty of food options around the city as well as a beer or wine. You also get to mingle with other foodies and exchange ideas. They have private tours too but the calendar is only available if you contact them for more information. Also, you can imagine the number of food lovers there is in the city and so it’s imperative to book in advance.
